Coconut Oil & Olive Oil
Coconut and olive oils are the base of most of my soaps. Coconut oil is a natural emollient that makes the soap creamy. Olive oil is an antioxidant, it is loaded with vitamins A, D, E and K. Goat and coconut milk in Soap
Milk is a staple in all of my soaps. Goat milk contains minerals including phosphorus, calcium, and potassium. Coconut milk is loaded with vitamins C, E, and several B vitamins. I believe the addition of milk into the soap adds another level of creaminess. Further Reading: Handmade goat milk soap
Shea Butter
Shea butter is the fat that comes from the nut of the shea tree. It is another wonderfully moisturizing emollient. Shea butter is loaded with antioxidants. Additional sources: Shea butter benefits What is shea butter
Sweet Almond Oil
Sweet almond oil is a light oil bursting with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It absorbs slowly yet easily into the skin. You will find this player in G’s Body Creme. Additional sources: Almond oil for skin
Camelina Oil
Camelina oil is a plant seed oil native to Northern and Central Europe and Central Asia. Camelina is a member of the Brassicaceae family. It is high in Omega-3 fatty acids, rich in antioxidants. Additional sources: Camelina Oil
Rice Bran Oil
Rice Bran Oil is an oil extracted from the bran, or outer layer of the rice grain. It is rich in antioxidants, Vitamin E, Omega-9 and Omega-6 fatty acids. It is absorbed quickly into the skin, without feeling greasy. It has a low Comedogenic score, which means it is unlikely to clog your pores.

Essential Oils

What is in my store-bought soap?
The following ingredients are found in well known store bought soaps.
SODIUM LAUROL ISETHIONATE - A surfactant- Used to create bubbles, and in turn strips the natural oil from your skin.
COCAMDOPRiOPYL BETAINE - Another surfactant, again can strip the natural oil from your skin. This is how they got oil off the ducks during the oil spills.
PARAFFIN - A key component of petroleum and natural gas.- used as a thickening agent.
FRAGRANCE - The Fair Packaging and Labeling Act is not allowed to force a company to tell “trade secrets.” Fragrance are often mixtures of many different natural and synthetic chemical ingredients. They are the kind of components that are most likely to be “trade secrets.” Many of these silent components have ENDOCRINE DISRUPTORS, that may mimic or interfere with the body’s own hormones.
Beeswax
Beeswax is used in my craft as a thickener for balms, salves, and cremes. Beeswax is a natural humectant. Additional links: Beeswax
Evening Primrose Oil
Evening primrose oil is a wonderful oil I use in my face oil as well as my lip balm. It is high in GLA, an Omega-6 fatty acid.
Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E oil is full of antioxidants and makes a terrific moisturizer. It is a thick oil and is wonderful for dry skin. Which is why you will find this in my foot butter. Additional sources : Vitamin E and skin health Tocopheryl Acetate
Rosehip Oil
Because rosehip oil is a dry oil, it is great for your face. It is high in antioxidants and vitamins A, B, C and K. Additional sources: Rosehip oil benefits for skin
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil is a great moisturizer for the skin, especially the face. This is in part because it is similar to human sebum, produced by the sebaceous glands. It is loaded with vitamins E, A, and D. Pomegranate Seed Oil

What is a MOISTURIZER?
Moisturizer, it would appear is not a chemical or scientific term. Rather, according to the Journal of Clinical Medicine and Research, moisturizer is a term created by the Mad Men of the marketing world. There are three types of skin nourishing oils. They are HUMECTANTS, EMMOLIENTS, AND OCCLUSIVES. Look at these articles to better understand them.
