Norse Mythology
Let me share what I have learned about Eir in Norse Mythology. Eir was a goddess, possibly a Valkyrie. Her name, Eir, pronounced Air, means healing or mercy. She was a healer with a knowledge of herbs used in these healing rituals. Thus, the name MISTY EIR for my soap being reintroduced this fall.
The green you see comes from Spirulina powder. According to UC Berkley, Spirulina is a “Cyanobacteria are aquatic and photosynthetic, that is, they live in the water, and can manufacture their own food.” It is believed to be one of the oldest life forms on earth. Spirulina is with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, and has anti-inflammatory properties.
The rough, uneven top on the soap represents the organic nature of the forest where Eir likely lived. The scent comes from Ravensara, Cedarwood and Cardamom essential oils. It gives this soap it’s earthiness and smells divine.
